What we collect

When you send a booking request: your first and last name, email address and phone number, and, if you give them, a second phone number, the messengers you can be reached on, your date of birth, your country, your flight number and a comment for the rental company. We also keep the booking itself: the car, the dates, the pick-up and return places and the price.

When you sign in to your account: your email address and when you last signed in. We send you a sign-in link by email, so there is no password to remember. Cars you save to your favourites while signed in are kept in your account.

When you leave a comment on an article: your name, your email address and the comment. Your name and the comment are published; your email address is not.

When you review a rental: your rating and what you write. Your rating counts towards the car's rating on this site; what you write is read only by us and by the rental company.

When you write to us through the form on the home page: your name, your email address and your question.

Why we use it

To pass your booking request to the rental company and keep you informed about it: the confirmation, any change, a reminder before pick-up and, afterwards, an invitation to review the rental. To answer your questions. To keep the accounting records of bookings that the law requires us to keep.

We use your data because it is needed to handle the booking you asked for, because the law requires it, or, for comments and reviews, because you chose to publish them. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

We take no payments online. You pay the rental company when you collect the car.

Who we share it with

The rental company you book with receives your booking details, so it can prepare the car and contact you. What it does with them afterwards falls under its own terms.

The online chat is provided by tawk.to. What you write in the chat is stored by tawk.to, not on our servers, under tawk.to's own privacy policy. If you contact us on WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber or Messenger, the conversation runs through that app and falls under its own privacy policy.

The website, its database and its email run on services we buy from [hosting provider], [email provider] and [file storage provider]. They process your data only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep booking data for [retention period] after the rental ends, and accounting records for as long as tax law requires. An account stays until you ask us to delete it. Messages sent through the form on the home page are kept for [retention period].

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps your session, including your sign-in, and one that protects forms against forgery. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.

Until you sign in, your favourites and your comparison list are kept in your browser's own storage and never reach us. The online chat sets its own cookies only once you open it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to the email address at the foot of every page. We may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as accounting records.
